Bidfood Charity Golf Day and Gala Dinner

On Thursday 27th July, the D&G team welcomed suppliers and customers of Bidfood to the award winning Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales to take part in the Official Bidfood Charity Golf Day and Gala Dinner. 180 golfers started their day bright and early with breakfast and welcome speeches by Group Sales and Marketing Director Andy Kemp on the 2010 Ryder Cup Course and Tim Adams Director of Marketing and Corporate Sales at The Roman Road. Before the shot gun start, guests picked up their fantastic goody prizes which included Adidas jackets and shoe bags, not forgetting an array of yummy treats! There was plenty of fundraising opportunities including Nearest the Pin, Longest Drive, Beat the Pro and a Hole in One to raise those vital funds for Bidfood’s chosen charity Springboard.

After the day’s activities, guests were able to freshen up and make their way to the Caernarfon suite where they were joined by an additional 110 guests for the evening Gala Dinner. The evening kicked off with a champagne reception and guests soon took to their seats with a warm welcome from the night host, DJ and former UK Comedian of the Year Russ Williams.

The eagerly anticipated main auction included some exclusive lots such as a VIP Suite at the O2 Arena to see one of the UK’s most loved comedians Micky Flanagan, an exquisite private dining experience at The Landau, The Langham in London and a private VUE screening for 150 guests! The silent auction was as popular as ever and guests were bidding to the very last minute via their tablets for some stunning lots and experiences. Geoff Miller OBE was up first in providing the guests with some fantastic cricketing stories, leading onto comedian Rob Beckett with his brilliant stand up performance and was a fantastic way to end a wonderful and successful day!
