Bidfood’s Annual Charity Golf Day

  • CHARITY -  Alzheimer's Research, UCL Dementia Research & Iceland Charitable Foundation

  • LOCATION -  Celtic Manor, Newport

On the 26th July 2018 we saw the third Bidfood Charity Event take place at the award-winning Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales. We welcomed over 170 golfers across two courses - the Twenty Ten and Roman Road, for a day full of fun and networking across the greens.

The day started early with registration, breakfast and goody bag collection which consisted of some fantastic items including a Ryder Cup towel, scorecard holder, ball marker, tees, balls and an Arccos driver tool helping players to monitor and see their stats for every drive and round. Following on from great motivational speeches from Andy Kemp and Tim Adams, teams took to the course with their vPar tablets for 18 holes where they were greeted with various forms of entertainment including Beat the Pro, Longest Drive, Nearest the Pin and a new addition for this year – TrackMan. Players were kept fully hydrated and satisfied with the addition of some fantastic food vans including Cornish pasties, scampi and hot dogs washed down with various glasses of Pimm’s and cocktails.

After a day of bogies and birdies guests were able to relax and enjoy some drinks before joining a further 140 guests at the Caernarfon Suite for an evening of dinner and entertainment. After a glass of champagne, guests took to their seats and were welcomed by the evening’s host, Sky Sports presenter Vicky Gomersall.

The evening saw further fundraising for Springboard in the form of a new game – Keepy Uppy, a raffle, a silent auction and a highly anticipated main auction including lots such as a masterclass with Andrew Strauss, a holiday in Tuscany, a private VUE screening for 200 guests and tickets to see the one and only Barry Manilow!

Laughs were a plenty with entertainment by the fabulous Bid-dudes and the evening was wrapped up in style by the ever hilarious, award winning Nina Conti.
